The Eds: Our New Home!

Okay, kids, we made it. You've been bugging us for weeks now: Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Give us credit - never once did we turn around and give you a crack.

Now we don't need to. Our daily blog posts are moving from thethirdcity.blogspot.com to this location starting..., Now!

You'll still enjoy the musings of those renowned Chicago scribes, Benny Jay and Big Mike Glab, every day. As if that isn't enough, we'll throw in the occasional Letter From Milo. A bargain at any price - but it's all free!

If this were a typical website blog, a half dozen or so little jerks would flame us with snarky comments about the above moldy cultural reference. Our message to them: Get Lost! We're not going to allow commenting or chatting here because, frankly, we don't care what anybody has to say about our work. Nor do we believe any other rational soul on this Earth cares either. We compare the endless commenting threads on other sites with fans at the ballpark doing the wave. Look, you pay your money to see the players on the field or the stars on the stage, not the audience in the stands. You're here to read us; we trust it's good enough to hold your attention. Hell, it's been keeping us in stitches since we started this thing last fall!

Remember, the Daily Blog isn't the only thing you'll find at our new site. Randolph Street, which previously ran every Friday at the old location, now has its own page here. Photojournalist Jon Randolph will update it every time he feels in the mood to do so. We're also in the process of setting up a music review column, Ear Candy, as well as a page devoted to exciting works by visual artists, called Eye Candy. We're wracking our brains to come up with other new treats as well.

We view this site as a living thing - constantly changing, fluid, always growing. In other words, we'll be fixing our stupid mistakes daily. Hang in there with us - The Third City will only get better!
